Sonomax is the premier custom molded, measured, and calibrated hearing protection system that is tailored to each individual ear.  It provides measurable hearing protection according to the noise exposure levels of each individual at their workplace.

Every ear is different:

Just like faces, the external and internal features of ears are different for each individual.  Unlike foam plugs, no ear cavity is the shape of a cylinder.

Sonomax ear plugs are custom moulded for an exact fit in each ear, forming a perfect acoustic seal.  It also ensures no pressure points between the shape of the plug and the ear canal, giving maximum comfort and no irritation.  The internal form of the plug means that it won't interfere with the use of other PPE.

Custom Calibrated Protection

Each individual ear is tested for its existing hearing profile before Sonomax plugs are fitted.  Once fitted, ears are tested for the amount of sound that makes it through, and the plugs can then be adjusted with filters to reach the exact level of noise attenuation required for the workplace. 

It's important to get the correct level of sound attenuation so that workers can still hear alarms and close conversation while still receiving the required hearing protection.  With foam plugs or ear muffs, workers will remove them (breaking the acoustic seal) to hear a conversation, significantly lowering the level of hearing protection.  With custom fitted Sonomax plugs, there is no need for this.

Documented Protection

When SonoCustom hearing protection is being fitted, our SonoPass software driven process confirms that an acoustic seal has formed, calibrates the required level of sound attenuation, and records the results.  At the end of this, documentation is generated which details the hearing protection provided for each ear for every individual.

Extendability

SonoCustom plugs can be coupled with communications devices to enable staff to hear communications clearly when working in extreme environments.
